ENCITE is very proud to have a joint collaboration for training with ESMRMB (European Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine and Biology) and presents its first ENCITE Mini-Categorical course on molecular imaging.
At the ESMRMB 2011 Annual Scientific Meeting in Leipzig/DE, ENCITE will carry out the Mini-Categorical course on molecular imaging on three consecutive days.
Prof. Mathias Höhn, representing the Max-Planck-Institute in Cologne/DE within ENCITE, is in charge of arranging the scientific programme of the course.

ENCITE is very proud to have a joint collaboration with EIBIR's Joint Initiative Biomedical Image Analysis Platform and its school.
The EIBIR Summer School on Imaging in Neurology is a mulitdisciplinary summer school, uniting about 50 young researchers coming from a variety of backgrounds. The high scientific level and the relaxed atmosphere invite a close and fruitful interaction between everybody present, both participants and staff.
Imaging modalities (MR, PET, CT), quantitative image analysis, (open-source) tools for image analysis, neuro- and population imaging and image analysis in clinical practice, validation and open- source databases, atlases, applic ations in the clinic, small animals and clinical trials.

ENCITE educational course "Molecular MR Imaging in Experimental Neuroscience"

Objectives and audience:
The course is designed to familiarise the audience with the definition and the methodological requiremtents for application of Molecular Imaging with primary focus on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
The course will be held within the "Lectures on MR" programme of the European Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine and Biology (ESMRMB). Both partners Max-Planck-Gesellschaft/De and University of Basel/CH are responsible for the programme.

Test the new photonIMAGER Optima!
Biospace lab presents the application fields of the new photonIMAGER Optima and discusses its technical capabilities through the advantages of real time imaging & of a modular approach for an acquisition system. This workshop, organised by the ENCITE partner BioSpace lab/FR will comprise two groups, with one working directly with the machine and animals while the other one attends a presentation and then vice versa.

ECR 2011 - ENCITE Session "Visualisation of cell therapy meets clinical application"

ENCITE is proud to present cutting-edge developments of novel cell therapies pointing to clinical applications.
Within the European community of cell imaging, this advance is of specific interest as, according to the recent developments, novel imaging tools are absolutely pre-requisite for the understanding of therapeutic effects to patients. Three fine examples of the visualisation of cell therapy will show promising results.

ENCITE Hands-On - Pancreatic islets preparation and visualisation (open to ENCITE members only)

The learning objective is to obtain insight into the isolation and transplantation of pancreatic islets (PI), labelling techniques which can be used to label and visualise pancreatic islets by magnetic resonance imaging as well as magnetic resonance imaging of human and rat islets.
The practical work will deal with the preparation and labelling of rat pancreatic islets, the preparation of phantoms containing pancreatic islets and their scanning, as well as animals with transplanted pancreatic islets in vivo MRI.
