Overview

The Project
The key work of the project is carried out within subprojects (SP), which represent the relevant expertise of the participating groups. While the subprojects will concentrate on the integration of new methods, technologies and approaches, they are broken down into individual work packages (WP) which concentrate on the scientific and technology activities and provide well defined, specific objectives and milestones.
The subprojects and the work packages will be co-ordinated at the project level and the success of the project will be assured by well defined interaction and communication channels coordinated at project level.

SP1 - Novel Imaging Technologies
Lead - University of Freiburg, Jürgen Hennig
Cell imaging and tracking requires the development of novel methods and tools for improvement and standardisation in all aspects of the project. The objective of SP1 is to provide;

  • New imaging methods to improve the spatio-temporal tracking of labelled cells.
  • New methods for quantitative assessment to generate reliable biomarkers of the cell fate and therapeutic effects.
  • Novel image post-processing techniques to allow stable and reproducible evaluation of experimental results. This includes tools for visualisation, co-registration as well as algorithms for quantitative evaluation.
The work is broken down into two main work packages, the first dealing with new pulse sequences and the second with image post processing tools.
